Transitioning Your Dog to Liberty Dog Food
When transitioning dog food, some dogs may be better by making a gradual transition over 7 to 10 days. Start with 25% of the new food mixed with 75% of the previous food and gradually increase the new while decreasing the previous until the transition is complete. The Daily Feeding Guide is a good starting point for daily feeding suggestions. If you feed more than once per day, simply divide the daily feeding amount by the number of times fed per day.
Feeding Guidelines
Dog Weight | Adult (Typical Activity) |
3 – 6 lbs. | 1/4 can |
7 – 9 lbs. | 1/2 can |
10 – 14 lbs. | 3/4 can |
15 – 19 lbs. | 1 can |
20 – 29 lbs. | 1 1/2 cans |
30 – 39 lbs. | 2 cans |
40 – 49 lbs. | 2 1/2 cans |
50 – 59 lbs. | 3 cans |
60 – 69 lbs. | 3 1/2 cans |
70 – 79 lbs. | 4 cans |
80 – 89 lbs. | 4 1/2 cans |
90 – 99 lbs. | 5 cans |
100+ lbs. | 5 1/2 cans |
For dogs over 100 lbs., add 1/2 can for each additional 10 lbs. Feed puppies up to two times and pregnant or lactating females up to three times the adult amount per day.
If feeding with dry food, feed 1/3 cup less dry food for every 1/2 can of wet food.
The suggested daily servings are only guidelines. Individual requirements may vary depending upon age, breed, weight, activity level and metabolism.
